Eyeglasses Aid Projekt Cooperation with Global Vision 2020

Today we had a very interesting conversation with Kevin White, the CEO of Global Vision 2020, via Skype and agreed on a cooperation. This means that today we have received the access password to the Assistant Optician Training page of Global Vision 2020 and the Assistant Optician training materials as PDF. Furthermore, we are to receive a starter set with the illustrated USee™ examination glasses, 250 different coloured plastic frames, 540 lenses and other accessories at the beginning of next year.

The size of the plastic frames is designed to fit an extremely large proportion of people from the age of 12 years. By the time we leave in 2021, there should also be a set of children’s glasses for the age of 6 years and older. In addition, tinted sun protection lenses will also be available then. This would allow us to take an extensive range of frames and lenses with us on our circumnavigation of the world at an amazingly low price.

For the sustainability of our project we will receive a second USee™ examination glasses, which we can leave behind with some material on an island we visited. But until then there is still some time left. Whoever is interested in such a help on remote islands is very welcome to contact us, e-mail: ahoi (at) welt-ahoi.de
